I know some of my readers, read my blog for my ways to save money or make money. This time of year is hectic getting ready for the holidays and can be expensive. But while I talk about ways to cut costs, I do think spending money on the holidays is good. We all want to make it special for our families and friends.
So I am going to share how to make some extra money for the holidays. This time of year is perfect for making extra money! Business people are hiring for Christmas help since it is the busiest time of year for them. Making money this time of year can pay for Christmas gifts! So I will share some of the temporary holiday jobs I took to make extra money during the holidays.
One of the easiest jobs I took was ringing the bell for Salvation Army. Some jobs are paid jobs and some are volunteer jobs. It is very simple. Mostly at Walmart you have a bucket for donations and you ring a bell telling customers hello and Merry Christmas. That is it! There is very little to set up and there is someone to pick up the buckets when your shift is over. Another simple job I took is wrapping presents at a men’s big and tall shop. That also was easy and a lot of fun. Another way is to donate plasma. You have to google any medications you take to see if that would prevent you from donating. You have to do a physical exam , some blood work and answer a lot of questions to see if you are a candidate. This is something you can do year round if you qualify. Most places you can donate twice a week. Not only making money for yourself but helping other people. Another job I did was working as a cashier at Walmart. Now I will tell you it is super busy at Walmart during the holidays so it can get stressful. But I thought it was fun seeing all the presents people were buying for Christmas especially the toys for their children or grandchildren. Another job I did during the holidays was working at a store that sells lotion, body spray and body wash for women. That was fun too helping women find a fragrance they loved. There is not many malls anymore since most people order online but if you are fortunate to still have a mall close to you the shops in the mall are always hiring during the holidays. So that is some examples. Some of these jobs start out as temporary holiday help but often some can lead to permanent jobs if you do a great job for them.
So I hope this gives you some ideas on where you can work or donate plasma for some extra money during the holidays. Holidays though do not have to be expensive. A wonderful Christmas gift is making cookies or some other sweets as a gift. I have also made hot chocolate for a gift and just mason jar food gifts for soup with the ingredients or something else people can make with the recipe .
I felt the need to post about this today. Tomorrow I will post some recipe ideas of snacks you can make for a treat box for Christmas too. I have started doing that the last few years for my daughter, son in law and grandchildren that live here in Arizona. My son and daughter in law live in Texas and spend Christmas with her family so I send them money for Christmas. So start planning now so that the holidays are not so overwhelming.
