All of us dream about taking a week long vacation but as everyone knows that can get expensive very fast. So instead take shorter vacations like a weekend trip. Look for things to do within 3 hours of where you live. For instance, I live in Phoenix, Arizona. Roughly 3 hours from here is a town called Sonora, Arizona a old mining town no longer working mines. But the town sits at the bottom of mountains that surround the town. Gorgeous scenery and tour buses to take you out to the most impressive formations. Also not far away from Phoenix is a popular ghost town called Jerome. It is a tourist town with lots of old interesting buildings. And another town roughly 3 hours away is Williams, Arizona where there is a train depot and a train that leaves early in the morning to the Grand Canyon. You stay a few hours there and there is a gift store and cafe. Then you take the train back arriving back at Williams around 6 pm. You can google to find how to purchase the tickets online. Plan to go around October or November when it is cooler or in the spring. Not the summer as temperatures are extremely hot in the summer in Arizona. These are just a few towns near Phoenix to visit. If you wanted to come here we have an International Airport here. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. But if you want something fun to do near you within driving distance , just google attractions close to you. So travel can be less expensive if you go for a weekend or a few days. Happy traveling!
