This is one of my favorite books. Nicholas Sparks writes wonderful love stories like The Notebook which was made into a movie. This book is based on a true story of two people who fell in love. He was visiting a beach in North Carolina and was told about a mailbox on a deserted beach called Kindred Spirit. He found the mailbox and inside were letters and postcards people had written their stories and even a recipe. He read them all and then there was a Manila envelope and on the outside said greatest love story ever! He read it twice and decided it would make a great book. He did a lot of searching and found the man in the story. He convinced him that his love story would make a great book! Nicholas researched all the places that the story took place that was still there and wrote this book with as much detail as he could. When I read this book the first time I couldn’t put it down! It’s such an interesting story and you can tell it’s about real people with real life problems. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next! This was written in 2018 when the man was in his 60s. So he is probably still alive. It’s a great book! I love watching a movie or reading a book based on a true story. I think they are so much more interesting because you know it’s about real people not fictional. This is considered fiction only because it’s impossible to recreate conversations with people and of course memories can change over time but I think Nicholas did an amazing job of telling the man and woman’s story. I highly recommend this book! You won’t regret reading it!
