Thanksgiving

by Darla Youngblood

It’s November and almost time for Thanksgiving! This is a time we gather with family or friends and have turkey, dressing and all the other good sides. Plus always ending with pumpkin pie or pecan pie!
Thanksgiving is also a time we remember the people and things we are most grateful for.
I’m most grateful for the huge family I was blessed with and a lot of wonderful friends. I’m very grateful for this blog and all of my readers as I build this blog to be helpful to each of my readers.
And as we know there are people who won’t have a thanksgiving due to being homeless or just not enough money for Thanksgiving dinner. Please tell people you may know that food banks are often given a turkey and other thanksgiving food for people who can’t afford a thanksgiving meal. There is also usually places cooking a thanksgiving meal for anyone who wants to come. If you are blessed to have the money for your Thanksgiving then please consider donating a box of Thanksgiving food for a family or person not as fortunate.
Starting in January, one of my goals is to write down 3 things I am grateful for each day. You can put these pieces of paper in a jar with a lid and label it gratitude jar. At the end of the year at Thanksgiving or Christmas, you can open the jar to read all the things you were grateful for during the year. We all need to keep in mind everyday what we are grateful for.
So I’m hoping each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with your family or friends! Happy Thanksgiving 🍁
