Christmas meal easy

By Darla Youngblood

Last year right before Christmas I was rushed to the emergency room having rapid fire seizures which means I was having one right after another. They rushed me into a MRI and stayed one night in the hospital. I was finally diagnosed right with Epilepsy gran mal seizures and I go unconscious. So my daughter and I needed an easy Christmas last year.
Christmas Eve I made two Texas Sheet Sheet Cakes which the recipe makes . My Mom made that cake a lot when I was growing up and I loved it! Christmas morning I stayed home while my daughter had their Christmas with the kids then they came to get me to eat Christmas lunch.
My daughter had bought a 8lb spiral ham that she had to cut to fit it all in the crockpot with pineapple juice on the bottom. Then she packed the ham in brown sugar and drizzled honey on top cooking for about 4 hours and it was the best ham I’ve ever eaten! Both recipes are under my recipe’s category.
Christmas is such a busy crazy day that this is so easy and so delicious! Don’t stress yourself out on Christmas Day trying to make a perfect meal! This is so simple and delicious that I promise you it will be a perfect meal with whatever sides you want.
Be sure and buy your ham as soon as you can as they sell out fast for Christmas and no bigger than 8 pounds because she even had to cut it to fit in the crockpot.
This is not necessarily cost cutting but more time saving and much less stressful for Christmas Day. For any special occasion that requires food make something simple! No one is going to remember you spending hours preparing food! It’s going to be eaten fast so make something like this so it’s easy.
