What I learned from the pandemic

by Darla Youngblood

Thinking back on the pandemic, I found several things that were good.
First and most important was families got much closer from having to stay isolated. Families were eating meals together, playing card and board games together, putting together puzzles, a lot of people were working from home, and none of us will ever take hugging our family and friends for granted anymore.
Of course there were hard things too but now we are able to have all the food and toilet paper we need!
Another thing too I noticed is a lot of people canning their food and making jelly. My daughter loves to sew and found more time to enjoy that.

What I saw were people enjoying doing things like I did growing up with no internet and especially the canning just like my Grandmother did.
We can all learn the things that were important from this time. I know spending time with my family and friends I will always see as a important lesson from this pandemic. So enjoy your time with family and friends again and think about all the things our grandparents did to stretch food like canning.
